We wish to categorically state that we do not edit or censor any film or programme. Unless, there is a censorship imposed by the government for any news item on news channels.
Also, we would like to state that we use our logo in important programmes to prevent any unauthorized recordings of programmes and piracy.

Dear Mr. Harold

Thank You very much for replying and responding to our email by taking time off your busy schedule. Sir, we understand that the logo is necessary for making sure that the programmes are not pirated.

The viewers would like to see the logo size reduced and not to interrupt information running on the screen using advertisements. Your viewers say that the advertisements are not professionally displayed.

Your viewers also want to know the status of the launch of Comet Digital. Some of them also say that it is unfair that Multivision is giving more channels via the subagents and giving only less channels via the direct connection.

Please read the comment by one of your customers. It is time that you carried out a survey among your customers so that you can get a feedback from them regarding their problems.

Awaiting a reply.

Regards

I hope this Blog is monitored by Comet management . . . I'm a another customer that is sick of the logos and adverts that come on Comet channels that are done very unprofessionally locally. This results in obscuring the picture, loss of info that is displayed on the screen, also degrades the picture quality, and is just annoying.

As Comet doesn't have a big customer base like CBNSat it's a way of earning revenue I guess. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against it. What I would like is if these are run on screen, then let it be done in a professional manner. Let not the info or picture be obstructed by them. Let someone monitor them and in such case if it's a hindrance to the viewer remove or adjust them and have them coming on when its not obstructing anything.

Comet cable is very customer friendly establishment. My subscription to them have been almost from its inception. I live in outskirts of Colombo and reception has always been a issue and once in every six months I have to call on the service crew to realign the antenna. Almost always they arrive within a day or two and the picture is back to normal.

I'm confident that if they are reading this BLOG and this issue will be resolved.

I do not think comet will have to put their logo to prevent piracy. Because comet does not own the content that they transmit. They are just a cable operator who gets the content from the original producers and retransmit to the subscribers.

So comet does not need to worry about copying the content illegally. the original content providers will deal with it if there is any issue. That's how it is happening world over.

first of all "THEY RESPONCE.. OMG.. IS THIS TRUE.. COMET REPLYS.. :D " I agreed with above post. Cable operators just another agent retransmitting the content from original source. you guys cant put ur logo in there. how come logo appear only few channels . not in HBO or Cinamax. I read there legal terms you guys cant touch there channels even cant change dot on those channels. they will sue your ass off. Just do what you spouse to do. Not edit the content.

hi there!

well, i too think the logo could be made smaller. at times scores and important information is blocked out due to this.

there have been a few negative aspects of multivision as a whole. I remember how a connection was obtained for the OTSC and due to a high rised building the signal was distorted. However, coment cable management insisted that the OTSC pay the monthly charges irrespective to the fact that they couldnt even view the broadcast.

Secondly, was a complaint my friend had with regard to the customer care. He accuses of your company reps to be very rude and failing to keep their word - this was with regard to the connnection dates. Try follow the dialog position to promise little - deliver much, simple marketing actually.

These are the only two cases I actually have against the company. Quite happy with the service - yes at time BBC was lost and the Rugby Matches were not shown but on the whole its thoroughly enjoyed. FTV included!

I would like to see a response from James Scobbie. Any other response means nothing really.

Incidentally, if Digital TV is only going to be a dream for Comet Cable, then they ought to modify their webpage titled "What's New" concerning their future plans!!

Comet has a new news latter posting to the customers register there emails. They send this weekly.. for example .. week1 .. week 2 .. week 3.. etc. and they have promotional questions and prizes as well. I think it’s the same Harold guy who reply to the this blog we have to send the answers. But there no place they mention who are the winners.. so I am not sure do any one get the prizes…
