It seems that Comet Cable is unable to find a proper replacement for Fashion Tv and initially Fashion TV was replaced by NDTV and now it seems that NDTV has given way to Al Jazeera International.
It would be excellent if Comet Cable can find a permanent and proper replacement. It is also said that a scrolling message is saying that it is a test transmission and is asking for comments regarding the replacement.
Comet Cable could introduce SET Max since the ICC World Cup will be broadcast on that channel. We hope that Comet Cable will carry out a survey among its existing customers and introduce a channel that the subscribers want instead of carrying out trial and error testing such as this. Steps should be taken by Comet Cable to telecast the ICC Cricket World Cup to its subscribers who have remained loyal to the company. In addition it is interesting to note that several subscribers are complaining of a drop in the quality of reception in certain areas.
We are awaiting the launch of Comet Digital since the deadline set by the TRC is fast approaching.

Al Jazeera Englis TV is a wonderful channel where we get an opportunity to see the many untold stories and events that CNN, BBC, FOX, ABC, MSNBC choose to keep under wraps.
I hope they will keep it and other service providers will also choose to air it for the benefit of all the people in SL?
can watch the SL vs India on FTA DD+. India vs WI was shown with a 7 min delay. I reckon todays match is live on DD.
NDTV was much better choice than Al Jazeera... and its frustrating that Comet keeps changing channels just when you get used to watching them... I am sure they will replace Al Jazeera too when we all get used to watching this news channel...
NDTV is crap channel compare to ALjazeera..
with lots of high rise buildings coming up in colombo there is bound to be disruptions to comet signal. maybe going digital will help with a relocation of their transmitter.
they keep on chaning channels due to the capacity issue as they can max broadcast 18 channels in analogue.
with LBN and CBNsat really adding channels to their line up(both exceed 36)and new and latest channels been added ,comet really should do something radical and legal to not to just grow but to keep the customers intact.
what I hear is that with launch of dialog TV formerly CBNsat they are offering corporate packages at 11500 with 48 premium channels lined up already and more to come.
better comet do something fast.
if cbn sat gives away new connections to 11500 then most of the comet customers will go for it.
cos even comet will charge some amount from their customers to upgrade to digital, if they ever go digital. (which they are doing for some years)
and we pay the high monthly rental for less channels ..
I think comet should inform its customers whether they are going to upgrade their technology to digital or not & if yes by when.
They should give a definite answer rather than giving bullshits.
So we the customers can make a choice whether to get CBN or LBN or stick with comet.
I heard that slt also providing cable tv this year.

As far as comet is concerned, we customers have only known "pay more for less channels". It has the highest rental and highest installation fee for only 18 analog distributed channels. Some comet subscribers i know are planning to move to dialog tv thanx to the co-operate packages introduced by them... comet was the coolest thing that happened to Sri Lankan tv but now its a rip off. And chances are, they wont go digital anytime soon, even with the TRC deadline. And if the SDA doesnt like shares to be sold, then comet doesnt have too many options to keep its subscriber base.
