It has been reported that Comet Cable carried broadcasts of the ICC World Cup match between West Indies and Pakistan on the 13th and we believe that this broadcast was done via DD Sports. We have also got reports that yesterdays matches were not telecast over Comet Cable which maybe because DD Sports did not telecast the match.

THIS WAS ANNOUNCED AT A PRESS BRIEFING HELD IN THIS REGARD AND ROLL OUT THEIR DTH PLATFORM ALONG WITH THE IRB RUGBY WORLD CUP IN SEPTEMBER.COMET HAVE ALSO SECURED 2 TRANSPONDERS IN INTELSAT FOR THIS PURPOSE.

dth or no dth, what comet tried to do yesterday, (15th March) was very low down. They replaced vh1 with set max which they got via tata sky.
befor long a crawler appeared on the screen saying that it is illegal for another paytv operator to show that feed. then, comet censored the whole screen (kinda like an adult scene on FTA tv) . they also tried unsuccessfully to cover the tata sky menu link on screen. this is how i know the feed was tata sky.
when i called customer care, they denied that the screen was censored, and when asked abt tata sky, they said they cannot comment. about an hour later, vh1 was back and the match on comet was over.
i hope comet doesnt stoop down to such low levels in the future.
and as for the dth story, can someone plz give a link to a newspaper article or sum proper substance about it?
above post guy is insane. why you care how or which way show the match ?? i believe all sri lankas should be able to watch the matches the way they want. DTV or comet or LBN or channel eye. people find illigale ways if people trying to get the ownership.

What is you problem? the legality or illegality dosent matter to us As customers we want to watch the match if what comet is doing is illeagal there are authorities to look into it and take action.
I appeal here to "real" customers of comet cable please refrain from commenting about world cup telecasts in comet here as we comet customers will be the ones to suffer.
