Comet Cable please clarify

It is being several weeks since Star Plus, Star World and Star Movies was taken off air from Comet Cable. Assurances were made that the channels will return on June 2nd but as of now nothing has happened.

Several subscribers may not pay their subscription this month and many are contemplating a move to either LBN or Dialog TV. The Star Package and Ten Sports is what kept many existing subscribers from making the move, but Dialog TV have already acquired Ten Sports and will be introducing the Star Package during the course of this month or next. LBN too have the Star Package but no Ten Sports and it is not that Comet Subscribers have no choice. So if Comet does not reintroduce the channels then we may see the end of this company.

OR has the end already begun with the disappearance of Star Movies, Star Plus and Star World. We hope that Comet Cable Management will take immediate steps to rectify the situation.

My advice is dont pay your subscription and if you are in a LBN area get an LBN connection you will only miss Ten Sports otherwise wait till DTv introduces star and get a connection from the savings you make by not paying the comet subscription this may sound wrong but i think comet customers will understand

Please be aware of DTV too as they are having lot of problems at present with signal loss, pixelation ,...etc but i just cant see comet going anywhere but down

To pay or not to pay ? That was the question that I too was grappling with at the beginning of this month.
The difference between the Full Package (1725/=) and the HBO Package (1610/=) is only 115 bucks.

Personally, after a hard days work and evening exercises, I find it relaxing to unwind before the entertainment on cable TV.So if I chose not to pay, I run the risk of having my subscription terminated. Of course this would have subsequently entailed many telephone calls and/or visits to Comet, arguments with the cretins in that Company, etc. - all of which would only have served to enhance my stress levels.

So I decided that I would rather lose the 115 bucks than the entertainment provided by Comet. Wimbeldon is on at the moment and so are the Test Matches. The movies on HBO,Cinemax and AXN are not too bad either.

I cannot switch to LBN since they do not cover the area I live in.
I would like to give DTV time to introduce their full range of channels (including hopefully Star) and to overcome the many technical problems that they appear to be facing at the moment (judging by the posts on the DTV blog) before making a decision. Otherwise I may end up jumping from the frying pan onto the fire.

At least for the month of July, I feel it is a case of 'Better the known devil than the unknown'.

There does not appear to be much point in appealing to Multivision to inform it's customers regarding the present status of the Company and it's future plans. I have never heard of a Company more arrogant & stupid than Comet Cable in this regard.

Looks like the gentleman you referred to in your post (Mr Anton Alwis) is the first really genuine & honest person at Multivision. (He said Star will be back within the next 24 hrs)

If you are able to contact him, please ask him to give us an indication of what Comet has in store for it's customers in the near future
