Just Curious some Comet Cable Billboards carry that they have History Channel, Star Vijay, Channel V and a few channels that are not listed here. Can I know whether they have stopped those channels

Comet transmits 19 Channels Analog (when I purchased the connection markety trick me saying its digital 3 years ago). So time to time they swap the other channels. Of course they transmit what every live stuff going on even they have to swap channels like ten sports Pakistan, DD sport. Etc. the billboards you guys see in other channels are for my knowledge it is the sub agents of comet they take 19 channels + other channels and distribute small group. The people who connect directly to comet only get 19 channels.

Exactly ... the ppl who uses Comet + other channels, to some areas gives all that for about Rs. 500/= and we have to pay more than twice that to use less number of channels directly from Comet - which is grossly unfair.
Does anyone know when we can expect Comet Cable to provide digital TV? Now even LBN have advertised that they will provide digital tv. Also what is the internal conflict at Comet cable?

Why don't you think of getting CBNSat ?
DTH is the future my dear friends. Please don't spend money on comet digital because it's also an outdated technology. The whole world is turning towards DVB-S DTH (Direct To Home) Television.
Anyway for the same money you pay to comet with CBNSat you get 35 channels.
this guy look like some one inside from CBN. posting the same thing both headeings..
hey i'm not a cbnsat markety guy. i'm an ordinary customer. i also had a comet connection in colombo. but it was not available in my home town. so i got a cbnsat for my parents. by seeing the quality of the pictures and the service you get for the same amount of money i got one for colombo too.
at the moment i have both as my comet subscription ends in december. i do not have any hope to extend comet. i stick to cbn.
can you give me any advantage of having comet over cbn ? pls !
Well currently the only advantage i can see is that Commet offers Ten Sports !
CBNsat will get Ten Sports soon!
However it is not fair for anyone supporting CBNsat (cluding me) to force others into it. And anyway we must all get together against the Hurugalla UrduNet.

Right now no 'BBC News' on Comet. 'Bloomberg' instead.
That may be because BBC encrypted it's service from today. As of today BBC will not be a FTA Channel and will be a Pay TV Channel.
Maybe Comet has not signed with them yet for their Pay TV broadcast.
This announcement about BBC Encryption was made last monthon BBC World.
CBNSat is the ONLY authorised distributor for BBC in Sri Lanka.
So whoever want to get BBC whether it be LBN, or Comet you should get it from CBNSat.
Now since the CBNSat is down no one will be able to watch BBC.
I do get feeling there is a inside guy who posted stuff behalf of CBN. Star TV lanka (now satnet or something) was the authorized dealer for Startv network in sri lanka. But comet has it. LBN has it. Even CBN have some channels. So if you think CBN the only one who can re air BBC then CBN never will get other Startv channels for your argument.
How can CBN be dealer for BBC even with out having a proper license? BBC signs the agreement with out looking at the Documents???
Comet cable have indicated today that they expect that they will resume BBC transmission (on Monday next week) as soon as they receive the special decoder from India
BBC might have checked their licences and since everything is ok they might have appointed cbn as their reseller.
Yes either they have to get it from CBNSat or get down a decoder from India. Monday means that they will be waiting for CBN to become online and they'll get BBC from it.
Otherwise they could buy the special decoder from CBN itself.
My friend what i have mentioned is not that u cant receive the channel but u'll have to enter into some agreement with the channel as well as the distributor.
I've been watching BBC on comet since my CBN is down. Yesterday was a crucial day when we all wanted to watch BBC to see how they report the tragic incident.
But for 1 mans wish we all kept away from it.
I think comet is waiting till monday for cbn to restart their broadcast so they can get bbc from them otherwise they will have to get a decoder from india.

yep BBC is back on comet and still CBN is stil out of air. so i dont think authorised dealer thing have nothing to do with this. they do waiting for the decorder :P
Dont speak of things u don't know. Comet got the decoder from CBNSat. The signals can be received from PAS 7/10 satellite.
do i look care where they got the decorder. my connection up and runing . that what matters...
